Salinas East – Brazil REE Project (Significant IAC REE Discovery)
The East Salinas Project, located within the highly prospective Medina Intrusive Complex, represents a new REE discovery following successful scout drilling. Initial diamond drilling has identified extensive near-surface REE mineralisation hosted within thick saprolite clays exhibiting ionic adsorption clay (IAC) characteristics, a style associated with low-cost extraction. Assays from the first four drill holes have returned broad, high-grade intercepts including:
- 12m @ 2,741ppm TREO and 23% NdPr from surface (EAS-DD-0001)
- 8m @ 1,482ppm TREO and 22.1% NdPr from surface (EAS-DD-0002)
- 13m @ 1,654ppm TREO and 16.8% NdPr from surface (EAS-DD-0003)
- 7m @ 3,467ppm TREO and 21.5% NdPr from surface (EAS-DD-0004)
- Peak grade of 5,058ppm TREO @ 25% NdPr from 1 - 2m (EAS-DD-0004)
All holes intersected continuous saprolite clay horizons, demonstrating scale and consistency across multiple targets. Preliminary IAC leach testing has delivered strong metallurgical results, with peak recoveries of 61% NdPr, 63% DyTb, 62% SEG and 60% HREO(+Y) from near-surface saprolite clay. Mineralisation is supported by anomalous surface trends extending over 4km and remains open along strike and at depth, with assays pending from the remaining drill holes.
