Company Overview

NEXT-GEN Energy Technology (Group Holding) Pty Ltd is an Australian-owned battery materials company establishing its foundation manufacturing operations in Australia. The Company holds global patents covering a proprietary production process for Li-NCA (lithium nickel cobalt aluminium) cathode material and has invested over A$4 million to acquire and develop the underlying intellectual property.

Next-Gen plans to establish a manufacturing facility in South Australia located within a well-serviced technology precinct at the former GM Holden automotive manufacturing site. Government support and grant assistance have already been secured for the development of the project.

The Company has entered into a secured offtake agreement with U.S. partner M2i Global for an initial 10,000 tonnes per annum of Li-NCA material, with potential to increase volumes as production expands. Woods Capital has been engaged to lead a A$50 million Stage 1 development raise, with an A$5 million equity raise planned for mid-2026 as the next step toward the Company’s objective of a future Nasdaq listing.

The Company’s key patent has been independently valued at approximately US$200 million, with indicative project NPV estimated in the range of A$200–300 million and forecast operating cashflows expected to exceed A$70 million per annum within three years of production.

Technology & Product

Next-Gen’s core product is Li-NCA (lithium nickel cobalt aluminium oxide), a high-performance battery cathode material used in advanced lithium-ion batteries. Compared to conventional lithium-ion chemistries, Li-NCA offers higher energy density, longer cycle life and improved thermal stability, making it particularly suited to premium electric vehicles, aerospace applications and defence battery systems.

The Company’s competitive advantage lies in its patented production process, which eliminates the toxic ammonia waste streams typically associated with conventional NCA synthesis. This environmentally superior method significantly reduces chemical waste while maintaining high material purity and performance characteristics required for advanced battery manufacturing.

As global demand for high-performance battery materials continues to accelerate, particularly in electric mobility and defence applications, Li-NCA remains one of the most energy-dense commercially deployed cathode materials available, positioning it as a critical component within next-generation battery supply chains.

No toxic ammonia waste — cleaner, patent-protected process

EV range approximately doubled vs. conventional Li-ion

Significantly reduced battery size and weight

Vastly reduced Scope 3 emissions (proximity to AU resources)

Battery life extension 4× (30–40 year lifespan)

~80% faster charging time

Greatly reduced thermal runaway and fire risk

Proven at 200,000 tpa — not pilot-stage technology

Indicative Timetable
