Company Overview
OKA is an iconic Australian all-terrain vehicle brand engineered for the world’s most demanding applications.
Over nearly four decades, the brand has earned a strong reputation for durability, reliability, and superior off-road performance. OKA vehicles are recognised for their high payload capacity and versatile configurations, with clients spanning the mining, industrial, defence, and emergency sectors, including the Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force. The enduring operational life of many original units built in the 1990s underscores the engineering integrity and loyal customer following that define OKA’s legacy.
After periods of ownership changes and production halts, OKA was revitalised by Dean Robinson, who spearheaded the development of the Gen 5 OKA NT—a thoroughly modernised platform informed by seven years of engineering and extensive real-world testing. Featuring advanced driveline components from global Tier 1 suppliers like Cummins and Meritor, the Gen 5 delivers major upgrades in performance, durability, and maintenance. In 2023, the vehicle achieved type approval under Australia’s Road Vehicle Standards Act, enabling large-scale production and paving the way for global market expansion.
Today, OKA is pursuing a targeted growth strategy, scaling production via a capital-efficient licensing model with select international partners and embedding an OEM-grade supply chain. The company is focused on building recurring revenue through fleet leasing, licensing, and service agreements to drive long-term shareholder value. Led by an experienced executive team with global industrial expertise, OKA is well positioned to capture growing demand in sectors like emergency response and off-grid operations, where its legacy of rugged, off-road performance remains unmatched.
OKA's History
Founded in 1986 in WA; First commercial production of the vehicles commenced in 1991.
Over $35 million invested in the development of these unique trucks; 500 OKA trucks built and sold to date.
Vehicles gained popularity across sectors such as mining, tourism, and remote expedition travel.
Despite early successes, the company struggled due to mismanagement and ceased production in 2011.
In 2017, OKA returned to Australian ownership under new leadership, marking a revival of this iconic brand.
In late 2023 Type Approval granted for the Gen-5 OKA series.
