Brett Paton
Non-Executive Chairman
Brett Paton entered the finance industry in 1980 as a Chartered Accountant. After 23 years at UBS, he retired from his role in 2008 as Vice Chairman, having run the UBS Equity Capital Markets business for 14 years. Following this, Brett served as Vice Chairman of the Institutional Clients Group for Australia and New Zealand at Citigroup Inc. for five years.
Over his years at UBS and Citigroup, Brett’s respective teams assisted and advised companies, governments, and government agencies on capital raisings, totalling approximately $230 billion of equity. Having served as a Non-Executive Director of Tabcorp and Chair of Audit and Risk for its demerged entity, Echo Entertainment, he has gained significant experience and valuable insights into the functions expected of ASX boards and companies in the wagering industry.
Brett has also served as a Council member of RMIT University, where he chaired the Risk and Audit Committee and was also a foundation member of the ASX Capital Markets Advisory Panel. With his breadth of experience in the finance and wagering industries, Brett is well equipped to chair the Board and guide the business development and future of PointsBet.
Sam Swanell
Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer
Sam Swanell has substantial expertise and experience in the wagering industry, including successfully managing the start-up of both TomWaterhouse.com and PointsBet. For three years, Sam served as National Sales Manager with TOTE Tasmania, responsible for all revenue channels including all retail and pub outlets. During his tenure, turnover and EBITDA increased 200%. This was followed by four years as Chief Operations Officer at TomWaterhouse.com, which involved responsibility for establishing and managing all functions of the business. TomWaterhouse.com grew rapidly to become a pre-eminent wagering brand in Australia until its sale to William Hill. Sam’s experience also includes international consulting assignments across North America and Europe and related verticals such as online casino and poker.
Sam has a deep understanding of the critical areas required to produce and manage a successful sportsbook, which has been instrumental in the establishment and growth of PointsBet.
Manjit Gombra Singh
Non-Executive Director
Manjit Gombra Singh provides strategic and executional direction for PointsBet global products and technology. Manjit has excelled for 20+ years as a senior software product executive with expertise in cloud computing, mobile commerce, mobile gaming, casino gaming, messaging platforms, and systems management. Having worked for Silicon Valley start-ups as well as large companies, he is an expert in scaling software systems, as well as running 24x7x365 e-commerce and gaming systems. Manjit is a published author and speaker on modern technology trends and has previously held senior leadership roles at Aristocrat Leisure Limited (CTO and EVP), IGT – International Gaming Technology (Executive Director), Juniper Networks (Senior Director), and Sun Microsystems (Director). In recent years, Manjit founded DruvStar, a cybersecurity company, and also helped several gaming and modern technology businesses as an advisor. He began his career with a Master of Technology (Computer Science) from University of Hyderabad, India, studied strategic leadership for technology and innovation at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional. Education and Cybersecurity are two personal passions for Manjit – he champions and supports mentorship programs for engineering students and cybersecurity training programs for IT professionals.
Tony Symons
Non-Executive Director
Tony Symons has over 20 years of experience in corporate law and mergers and acquisitions, including four years with a global firm in Hong Kong. Tony is the Founder and Managing Director of Clarendon Lawyers, a corporate legal advisory firm specialising in mergers and acquisitions and equity capital markets. His extensive experience spans a wide range of corporate transactions involving large foreign listed companies, private equity funds, Australian listed companies, large private companies, and family offices across a range of industries. He regularly advises on and coordinates complex transactions, often across multiple jurisdictions, and is consistently recognised in peer review-based industry publications as a leading M&A lawyer in Australia.
Becky Harris
Non-Executive Director
Becky Harris is the former Chairwoman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) and a former Nevada State Senator. Representing Nevada’s Ninth District, Becky Chaired the Senate Education Committee and was a member of the Senate Judiciary, Finance, Education, Commerce, Labor and Energy Committees. Becky is also a former member of the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCGLS), an association of lawmakers from across the United States, and chaired the Responsible Gaming Committee, having served as Treasurer.
Becky is currently a Distinguished Fellow, Gaming & Leadership at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas International Gaming Institute (IGI). She teaches sports betting classes to regulators and other gaming industry stakeholders through the International Center for Gaming Regulation at the IGI. The IGI works with regulators and other stakeholders worldwide to ensure they have the latest information, knowledge, and tools they need to analyse and improve gaming policies and regulation in their jurisdictions. Becky also teaches Gaming Law and Policy at the Boyd School of Law at UNLV.
Becky received her LL.M. in Gaming Law and Regulation from the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law.
Peter McCluskey

Peter McCluskey has been an insolvency and corporate reconstruction professional for over 30 years. He has strong relationships within the Australian and international finance sectors, having managed the conflicting agendas of diverse parties in large banking syndicates in some of the biggest restructuring assignments in Australia. As Managing Partner at Ferrier Hodgson’s Melbourne office for 12 years, Peter had exposure to a broad range of industries due to his engagement and oversight of several corporate restructuring and insolvency projects, and is recognised for his ability to manage and resolve complex matters.
Kosha Gada
Non-Executive Director
Kosha Gada is a seasoned executive with expertise at the nexus of media, technology and digital business models. She is currently the CEO and Managing Director of Recastled LLC, a media & tech incubator and advisory firm. Prior to Recastled, Kosha was Corporate Executive Director of Strategy at the Comcast Corporation. Kosha was previously a Principal at Kearney, advising senior executives at premier global corporations on strategic and operating objectives. Kosha is a regular contributor on business/news networks (including Sky News, CNBC and BNN Bloomberg) and publications (including Forbes and TechCrunch) as well as a keynote speaker at industry symposiums focusing on media and technology analysis.
William Grounds
Non-Executive Director
William Grounds is a seasoned senior executive and board member with a successful track record of managing businesses across geographies and in diverse industry sectors, including highly regulated environments.
William was President and Chief Operating Officer of Infinity World Development Corp from 2008 to 2021, overseeing Dubai World’s investments in CityCenter Las Vegas, Fontainebleau Miami and The Grand Los Angeles. He has also served as a Non-Executive Director of MGM Resorts International (NYSE:MGM) between 2013 and 2021, during which time PASPA was repealed and the BetMGM joint venture formed. Mr. Grounds has a deep understanding of the North American sports betting, iGaming and Casino markets.
Prior to his move to the USA in 2008, William was based in Australia where he held senior executive roles with Investa Property Group and Lend Lease Property Services.
He is currently a Director of Consumer Portfolio Services (NASDAQ:CPSS) and Nevada Public Radio (KNPR) and is also a former Director of Remark Holdings (NASDAQ:MARK), as well as Fontainebleau Miami JV LLC, CityCenter Holdings LLC and Infinity World Development Corp.
