Papyrus Australia Limited (ASX:PPY)

Transforming banana plantation waste into sustainable, biodegradable packaging and fiber products.

About Us

Papyrus Australia Limited is an Australian technology company revolutionising the packaging and fibre industry by transforming banana plantation waste into sustainable products. Its patented process delivers a natural, biodegradable alternative to plastics and wood-based materials, reducing environmental impact while creating economic opportunities in rural and agricultural communities.

Company Overview

Papyrus Australia was founded in 1995 and is based in Adelaide, South Australia. The company has developed a proprietary, environmentally responsible technology that converts banana tree trunks—typically a waste product—into commercially valuable fibre and biodegradable packaging.

The technology, designed to be deployed in banana-growing regions worldwide, supports sustainability and circular economy goals. It enables rural communities and industry partners to generate additional revenue streams from waste materials, while offering a compelling alternative to deforestation-driven timber and single-use plastic products.
