Spartan Resources Limited is an Australian gold company dedicated to the exploration and development of high-grade gold deposits. The company's primary focus is the Dalgaranga Gold Project, complemented by strategic assets like the Yalgoo Gold Project.

Company Overview

Spartan Resources Limited's flagship asset, the Dalgaranga Gold Project, is located approximately 65 kilometers northwest of Mt Magnet in Western Australia's Murchison Region. This project encompasses a fully operational gold mining facility and an extensive exploration landholding, presenting significant opportunities for new high-grade gold discoveries.

In addition to Dalgaranga, Spartan holds the Yalgoo Gold Project, which includes the Melville Gold Deposit. This deposit boasts a Mineral Resource of 243,600 ounces (5.2 million tonnes at 1.4 g/t Au) and is situated about 110 kilometers by road from Dalgaranga. The company's recent discoveries, notably the Never Never and Pepper gold deposits, have contributed to a combined high-grade underground Mineral Resource Estimate of 2.32 million ounces (7.76 million tonnes at 9.32 g/t Au).

Mr Lawson is a professional geoscientist with more than 16 years operational experience spanning multiple commodities and jurisdictions and was a founding member of Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) that over his 6 years with the company transformed a small Western Australian gold mine into a multi-billion dollar global gold mining heavyweight.

Mr Lawson joins the board of Spartan as Managing Director after 3 years as the Managing Director of Firefly Resources Ltd, a junior exploration company that merged with Spartan in November 2021. Prior to that, Mr Lawson was Chief Geologist and alternate Resident Manager for TSX-listed Superior Gold (TSX.V:SGD) at Plutonic Gold Mine after selling the mine to the Canadian group out of Northern Star Resources in 2016-17. In his 12 months with Superior, the 27-year-old Plutonic operation produced more than $20m free cashflow from month one through a combination of cost reduction, operational focus and commercial dealings. 

Mr Lawson brings considerable operational management and technical experience to the board of Spartan and has set in place a firm strategy to take Spartan forward through consistent production, improved cashflows, commercial dealings and near-term production-focussed resource/reserve growth.

Mr Coyne has over 30 years' experience in the mining, engineering and construction industries, both within Australia and internationally.

Prior to re-joining Spartan in an executive director capacity, Mr Coyne held senior executive positions with Australia listed companies Macmahon Holdings Limited, VDM Group Limited, Peninsula Energy Limited, Red 5 Limited and with unlisted global manganese miner Consolidated Minerals. Over the past 15 years, Mr Coyne has been directly involved in a number of equity and debt raising transactions, M&A transactions and has been the project director on a company-wide systems implementation project.

Mr Coyne serves on the Board of listed uranium miner Peninsula Energy Limited and previously served on the Board of listed iron ore miner, BC Iron Limited, where he also held the role of Chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee.

Deanna Carpenter

Ms Carpenter has approximately 15 years' experience as a lawyer with a focus on equity capital markets and mergers & acquisitions, as well as extensive experience in governance, risk management and corporate compliance. In addition to her transactional skillset, Deanna also advises on general corporate advisory matters including, advice on Corporations Act and ASX Listing Rules compliance, continuous and periodic disclosure obligations, corporate governance, directors' duties, related party transactions, due diligence investigations, employee incentive schemes, board spills and shareholder meetings.

Ms Carpenter is currently a partner in the corporate and commercial practice of national law firm Hamilton Locke.

Mr Hine is a mining engineer and experienced non-executive director. He has extensive global mining experience with over 30 years in senior management roles in both surface and underground mining operations across Australia, New Zealand, Turkey and China.

Mr Hine previously held senior positions in the mining industry as Chief Operating Officer at Griffin Mining Ltd, Focus Minerals Ltd, Golden West Resources Ltd and Executive General Manager Mining at Macmahon Contractors Pty Ltd, Chief Executive Officer at Queensland Industrial Minerals Ltd, General Manager at Consolidated Rutile Ltd, Pasminco, Broken Hill / Elura Mines, CSA Cobar and Yilgarn Star.

Through his career in Australia and overseas in gold, base metal and mineral sands operations, Mr Hine brings a depth of experience in successful project execution, operational excellence, business improvement and sustainable operational safety performance with a focus on culture and stakeholder engagement.

Mr Hine graduated from the Western Australia School of Mines and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

Mr Hine also an Independent Non-Executive Director of Dynamic Group Holdings Limited (ASX:DDB).

Anna Neuling

Ms Neuling has 20 plus years of experience in financial and corporate roles in the resources industry with ASX listed companies including Lionore Mining International Limited, Antipa Minerals Ltd and Avoca Resources Ltd. Prior to that, Anna worked at Deloitte in London and Perth. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Anna also holds a degree in mathematics from the University of Newcastle (UK).

Anna is currently a Non-Executive Director of ASX-listed S2 Resources Ltd. Prior to moving to Non-Executive Director in August 2022, Anna was Executive Director of S2 Resources Ltd since it was demerged from Sirius Resources Limited as part of its merger with IGO in 2015. Anna has held various roles at Sirius since its inception and was Executive Director Corporate and Commercial at the time of the $2.7 billion merger. Anna is also Non-Executive Chair of MLG Oz Ltd, an ASX listed Australian mining services company and Non-Executive Chair of Tombador Iron Limited, an ASX-listed Brazilian iron ore company.
