TMK Energy Limited is a gas exploration company publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX: TMK), and is actively engaged in the global energy sector. With a 100% interest in the Gurvantes XXXV Project located in the South Gobi Basin of Mongolia, and a 20% interest in the Talisman Deep Project, which encompasses the Napoleon Structure located in the Barrow-Dampier Sub-basin, TMK continues to solidify its position in the industry.
TMK’s flagship project, the Gurvantes XXXV Project, a comprehensive Coal Seam Gas (CSG) exploration initiative covering an expansive area of approximately 8,400 km2 in the South Gobi basin of Mongolia, boasts an array of distinct features. These include the presence of multiple extensively thick, top-quality, bituminous rank coal seams, which not only surface across the area but also extend along an impressive east-west strike, spanning approximately 150 km. The Project area also includes six active coal mining operations, along with twenty-six coal mining leases and a multitude of coal exploration licenses, which combined have defined a very large coal resource.
TMK prides itself on its 2022 Exploration Program, the results of which delivered a 1.2 Trillion Cubic Feet (TCF) Contingent Resource (2C) of gas being certified for the Project, making the Gurvantes XXXV Project, the largest Contingent Gas Resource in Mongolia.
Chief Executive Officer (Interim)
Dougal is an experienced energy executive with significant international experience, who has initiated and executed multiple transaction over 30 years with focus on small to medium scale companies.
Former Managing Director of several ASX listed oil and gas exploration companies included XCD Energy Limited (ASX:XCD) and Elixir Energy Limited (ASX:EXR).
Dougal is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has previously qualified as a Corporate Secretary and CPA.
Executive Director
Mr Brett Lawrence has 17 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry. Mr Lawrence worked with Apache Energy for over eight years, performing roles in drilling engineering, reservoir engineering, project development and commercial management before seeking new venture opportunities with ASX listed companies.
Mr Lawrence was recently the Managing Director of ASX listed Macro Energy Limited. Brett holds a Master of Petroleum Engineering, a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) and Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from Curtin University in Western Australia. Mr Lawrence currently also holds a board position as a non-executive Director of Calima Energy Limited (ASX: CE1)
Non-Executive Chairman
Professor Warburton was appointed to the board of TMK Energy Limited in March 2023. John is a Geoscientist with 40 years of professional oil and gas experience in operated and non-operated conventional and unconventional petroleum discovery, development and in business growth.
John’s career includes 14 years of senior technical and leadership roles at BP. He was Executive General Manager for Exploration and New Business at Eni in Pakistan, and until March 2018 John was Chief of Geoscience & Exploration Excellence at Oil Search Ltd.
He was appointed to the board of Empire Energy Group Limited in February 2019 where he continues as a Non-Executive Director. John has been a Director of Empire Energy’s wholly owned Northern Territory subsidiary, Imperial Oil & Gas Pty Limited, since its foundation in 2011 and was its Chief Executive Officer from 2011 to 2014 when he secured the company’s proven gas-bearing acreage. He continues to serve as a Director of Imperial.
John previously served as a Non-Executive Director of Senex Energy Limited in the six years before takeover by POSCO/Hancock Prospecting.
Non-Executive Director
Ms Gerelsaikhan has more than ten years of experience in marketing/communications and business development in real estate, mining and hospitality sectors. Previously she was Director of Communications / Marketing at Shangri-La Hotel, Ulaanbaatar. She also headed the Singapore and Hong Kong offices of Asia Pacific Investment Partners (APIP) as Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer.
Prior to joining APIP, Ms Gerelsaikhan was Business Analyst at SouthGobi Resources, a TSX & HKEx listed coal mining company (TSX:SGQ & HKEx: 1878). She is a founding member of both Mongolian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, as well as Mongolian Chamber of Trade and Commerce in Singapore (currently serving as President). She holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from Roskilde University in Denmark.
Non-Executive Director
Mr Wise has over 25 years’ experience in both public and private companies. He is a founder and former CEO of The Tap Doctor and Kalina Power Limited (ASX: KPO). He has advised numerous public and private companies as both a director and consultant. Mr Wise is currently a non-executive director of entX Limited and Firesafe Group.
Chairperson - Telmen Resource (wholly owned subsidiary of TMK Energy Limited)
Tsetsen is the founding Director of Telmen Resources LLC, the 100% owned subsidiary of TMK Energy Limited. Tsetsen held a number of corporate roles prior to founding the Telmen Group where he is currently the CEO (since 2007). The Telmen Group is responsible for a number of high profile, successful developments in Mongolia as well as in Russia and China.
Tsetsen was awarded the Polar Star by order of the President of Mongolia for his contribution to the low-income housing development in Nalaikh District. Tsetsen brings a wealth of experience and expert skills in Strategic Management, Business Leadership, Project Management, Contracts, and Negotiations.
Chief Executive Officer – Telmen Resource (wholly owned subsidiary of TMK Energy Limited)
With over a decade of leadership experience in the Mongolian capital market, and a strong track record raising capital, underwriting IPOs, and providing strategic financial advice, Naran has a proven ability to lead complex projects and deliver successful outcomes in dynamic environments with extensive experience in financial leadership and project development. Naran joined Telmen Resource LLC, wholly owned subsidiary of TMK Energy Limited, in 2022 as CFO, playing a key role in financial planning and strategy to support the company’s expansion.
In July 2024, Naran was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Telmen Resource and is actively leading efforts in developing the Gurvantes XXXV Coal Seam Gas Project in the South Gobi Basin of Mongolia.
Naran is a board member at several leading companies in Mongolia, including two listed on the Mongolian Stock Exchange (MSE), contributing to corporate governance and strategic oversight. Additionally, he is the former Chairman of the Board at the Mongolian Association of Securities Dealers (MASD), a self-regulatory organization, driving the development of Mongolia’s capital markets and regulatory framework.
Gurvantes XXXV CSG Project Manager
Brendan is a geologist holding a Bachelor of Science (BSc, Geology (hons) from University of Melbourne, and has more than 20 years of experience in the resources industry.
Brendan has significant international experience and expertise in coal and coal seam gas projects located within the South Gobi basin and has lived and worked in Mongolia for more than 10 years of his career.
